Welcome to the month of August!

 

Just a reminder that we are going to be closed on August 14th, 2017. Since it is still the summer months don’t forget that open toed shoes are not allowed and your child needs to be sun screened before they come to school in the morning and we re-apply it in the afternoon. Let’s have a great rest of the summer.

 

We would like to wish these staff members a very Happy Birthday: 8/11-Miss Cara (infants), 8/19-Miss Lori (K-prep), and 8/27-Miss Trisha (infants)

 

Infant Room A

 

Children will develop small muscle control, strength and coordination. Children will also engage in structured and physical activity.

 

Family Engagement: Sending home activities for families.

Classroom Special Events: Closed VJ day

 

Infant Room B

 

Children will gain a number sense and quantity. Children will also gain a sense of self, family and community.

 

Family Engagement: Decorate and color a beach ball.

Classroom Special Events: We are closed Aug 14th 2017

Infant Room C

 

The infants will attend to, understand and respond to increasingly complex language. Infants will develop small muscle control, strength and coordination.

 

Family Engagement: We want you to tell us what your favorite summer activity is with your family.

Classroom Special Events: We are closed VJ day Aug 14th, 2017

 

Crawler Room A and B

 

Children will develop self-help skills by using child safe utensils at meal time. Children will also gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts by using a variety of materials to create projects.

 

Family Engagement: Bring in a favorite book to share with the class.

Classroom Special Events: Water play- August 9th

 

Younger Toddlers A Room

 

Children will increase their skills in filtering impulses and staying on task. We will continue working on staying together as a group when going outside. Children will also develop the confidence to complete an action independently through finding their own chair for snack time.

 

Family Engagement: “Book Bag Club” – Info will be posted on parent board. What better way to spend a hot summer day than on the beach or in an AC room with a good book.

Younger Toddler B Room

 

Children will initiate play and interactions with familiar adults when pretending to drive ride-on cars through a “car wash” during water play. Children will explore characteristics of man-made and natural materials when painting with bubbles for our special activity.

 

Family Engagement: Make a sensory bottle with bubbles. *Teacher will send home supplies for parent to make sensory bottles with children.

Classroom Special Events: No School 8/14/17

Student/Staff Birthdays: Julia 8/19

 

 

Older Toddlers Room

 

Children will develop large muscle control, strength and coordination. Children will also explore the characteristics of objects and materials that are living, non-living, man-made or naturally occurring.

 

Family Engagement: Bring in photos of your family on vacation or having summer fun.

Student/Staff Birthdays: Max 8/26

 

Three’s Room

 

Children will learn to plan and carry out investigations and collect, evaluate and communicate information. Children will also engage in structured and unstructured physical activity while doing outside water play and kickball.

 

Family Engagement: Design your own ocean creature and send it in for show and tell.

Classroom Special Events: End of summer party for kids moving over to 4’s

Student/Staff Birthdays: 8/11 Sienna

 

Pre-K Classroom

 

Children will gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts. Children will hold information in their mind and manipulate in to perform tasks.

 

Classroom Special Events: Ice Cream Aug 2,10,16, and 24th 3 dollars a day and Kona Ice Aug 7 and 22nd 3 dollars a day.

 

K-Prep Classroom

 

Children will develop traveling skills and understand the position and orientation of their bodies to other objects and people. Children will also practice using materials with purpose, safety and respect.

 

Family Engagement: Favorite Family summer memory (this year) and show and tell drawings with words from families.
