We will also be having parent/teacher conferences at the end of the month. I would love to take some time to meet with every family and share the work in the children’s digital portfolios. Conference forms will be sent home later in the month.

Classroom Special Events: We do not have any special events planned this month but I would like to remind all of our families we will be going outside everyday, twice a day. Please make sure your child dresses appropriately.

Happy birthday: No birthdays this month, but we’d like to wish all our families a happy and healthy New Year!

K-prep:

This month we will focus on Literacy as the children work on noticing and discriminating the sounds of spoken language. We will also focus on alphabet knowledge as the children work on recognizing and identifying letters and make letter sound connections. “Both goals are critically important for children’s future academic and personal success”. RIELDS 2017

Family Engagement: Play various alphabet games with your child regularly. When in the car, play “I SPY” for different letters on store signs and road signs, and ask them to tell what sound each letter makes. This activity not only helps reinforce letter recognition, but it also makes use of the alphabet more meaningful to the child because they are relating to it in context.

Classroom Special Events: SNCA CLOSED 1/1. Happy New Year!

Here’s to another great month of learning and fun! Thank you for your continued help and support!
