The Stork's Nest Child Academy, Inc. offers your child an Age-appropriate Developmental Program.
These includes the following:
Academics in a Play Atmosphere, Gross & Fine Motor Perception, Language Stimulation,
Foreign Language (starting September 2008), Dramatic Play, Music and Art, Computers
Phonics, Kindergarten Readiness, First Grade Readiness, Enrichment Classes (Soon to come!)
Gymnastics Program (optional), Sign Language
Special Deliveries Infant Academy- (6 Weeks- Mobile Infants)
Our infant program starts with a nurturing environment with attention to the individual needs of each child. Daily information sheets provide essential communication between staff and parents regarding daily care. Our staff ratio is 1 caregiver to every 4 infants.
Steady On Your Feet Academy- (Mobile Infants- 19 Months)
This program begins when the children start to walk and seek their own adventures. Still a nurturing environment for our young explorers, this transitional room allows each child the freedom to exercise their newly found motor skills in an age-appropriate setting. Parents also receive daily information sheets. Our staff ratio is 1 caregiver to every 4 infants.
Stork Nesters- Toddler Academy- (19-36 months)
The toddlers are exposed to developmentally appropriate activities in various areas including language, cognitive and exploration that will prepare them for pre-school. Monthly calendars are provided to keep parents informed of daily activities. Children turning 3 years of age will be transitioned into the Pre-school class after being fully potty trained and at the onset of the new school year. Our staff ratio is 1 caregiver to every 6 toddlers.
Stork Perchers: Pre-school Academy- (3-5 Years)
Our pre-schoolers’ experience a variety of age appropriate activities in the following different areas: reading, math, science, gross motor, fine motor, cooking and free-play. Each learning area offers interest centers from which the children can choose activities. Parent communication is achieved through newsletters that provide the classroom’s topics for the week and a series of parenting tip articles. Our staff ratio is 1 teacher for every 9 three year-olds, 10 four year-olds and 12 five year-olds.
Kindergarten (5-6 Years)
Licensed and approved by the Department of Education, kindergarten children follow a curriculum implemented by the Head Teacher to prepare them for first grade. This program provides a balance of child-directed and teacher-directed activities with an emphasis put on academics such as: reading, writing, math, science, social studies, time and following directions. Our staff ratio is 1 teacher for every 12 students.
School-Age- (6-8 Years)
Before & after school and school vacation programs are provided for children to ease the transition from school to home for working families. There are computers available and the guidance of a teacher or assistant for homework or play. Our staff ratio is 1 teacher for every 13 students.
