Welcome to the month of July!

 

This month we will be closed on July 3rd and July 4th

 

Please make sure that your children have a bathing suit, towel and water shoes for water play.  All the rooms will be having water play once or twice a week.

 

We have planned a few in house activities for the children to experience each week for the summer. Field trip forms have gone out for all of the children in toddlers through Kindergarten.

*If you have not received one, please see your child’s teacher or stop by the office*

 

With the weather being so warm, we ask that all children come in with sun-block already applied and the teachers will re-apply in the afternoon.  Also please make sure that your child has extra clothes in his or her cubby that is weather appropriate for the warm weather.

 

Celebrating a birthday this month is Ms. Laura in older toddlers on 7/25, Ms. Nicole in Infants on 7/27, Ms. Brooke in toddlers on 7/30 and Ms. Ana in Pre-K on 7/31!  Happy Birthday!

 

 

Infants:

 

This month the infants will be working on cognitive development. The infants will explore logic and reasoning while they apply strategies and draw upon past knowledge and experiences. We will also be working on social and emotional development this month. Infants will be developing an awareness of themselves as an individual.

 

Family Engagement Activity: We are going to start doing water exploration this week! If you have a bathing suit you would like to send in please feel free.

 

Classroom Special Events: 4th of July Party! Wear your red white and blue July 5th! Happy 1st birthday Tristan on 7/28!!

 

Crawlers:

 

This month the crawlers will be working on learning their body parts. We will also become more comfortable with using our fine motor skills, such as using a spoon or picking up our food with two fingers.

 

Family Engagement: We are asking for our Pajama Party which is on July 14th, if the parents can bring in their child’s favorite food for lunch!

 

Classroom Special Events: On July 14th, we are going to have a pajama party. Happy 1st birthday to Jackson on July 11th!!

 

Young Toddlers:

 

This month we will be continuing to work on social emotional development especially children’s relationships with each other and development of trust with teachers. This will help the children who just moved up to develop positive relationships with new friends and new teachers. We will also be exploring nature with the warmer weather coming up . We will be exploring characteristics of objects/materials that are living ( bugs outside, animals) or naturally occurring (plates, flowers, rocks and grass).

 

Family Engagement Activity: Please bring in a picture of you and your child’s favorite summer activity!! We will make a collage of all the pictures for the children to look at and talk about!

 

Happy Birthday to Nolan on July 7th, Henry on July 10th, Daniel on July 14th and Amira on July 22nd!! Enjoy your day!

 

Older Toddlers:

 

This month we will be working on physical health and motor development by practicing health and safety practices. Children become increasingly able to identify unsafe situations and gradually learn strategies for responding to them. New children respond appropriately to redirection and unsafe situations. We will also be working on social and emotional development by creating relationships with others. Children develop trust in and engage positively with adults who are familiar and consistently present in children’s lives. Having new children develop relationships with new friends and teachers.

 

Family Engagement Activity: All About Me Paper for new families, along with sign language songs and videos. Happy Birthday to Lucy on July 23rd!!

 

3’s Preschool:

 

This month the children will engage in outdoor activities including splash pad and water play while reviewing being safe outside. We will also be working on developing relationships with their friends, as well as their new teachers through fun summer activities and projects in their new class.

 

Family Engagement Activity: Busy Bag with Nemo!! Read books and have adventures with Nemo and your family, then write about them in the Busy Bag Journal!!

 

Classroom Special Events: July 13th Bouncy House, 20th- Fiddle and Fun Show, 28th- Animal Adventures, 31st- Bjorn the Magician. Please see teachers for permission slips or if you have any questions.

 

4’s Preschool:

 

This month we will be working on recognizing letters in our name, and learning how to hold a pencil to begin writing. We will also be working on understanding characteristics and differences between habitats such as the rainforest and other areas of the environment.

 

Family Engagement Activity: Four our family engagement we are asking to bring in a family pictures for our classroom Kodak board.

 

Classroom Special Events: We will be doing a Show and Tell on July 20th. Please bring in something special to talk about. Happy Birthday to Reese on the 16th, and Hannah on the 19th.

 

Pre-K:

 

This month we will start off summer with animals that live under the sea, and animals that live in the rainforest to understand the characteristics of habitats. We will also be celebrating the Fourth of July with music and art to enjoy displays of visual art and experiences with music in our classroom.

 

Family Engagement Activity: Please bring in a drawing of who lives with you and your child on July 7th. Let them be creative and most importantly…Have Fun!!

 

Kindergarten:

 

This month we will be working on  relationships with others, where the children will develop trust in and engage positively with adults who are familiar and consistently present in children’s lives. We will also be working on scientific inquiry and application, where the children will learn to plan for, and carry out investigations, as well as collecting, evaluating and communicating information.

 

Family Engagement Activity: The Egg Drop Experiment! Build a special creation to protect an egg that will be dropped from the highest point in the playground. Details will be posted as well as handed out in mailboxes. Due July 28th.

 

Classroom Special Events: Backyard Safari- Children come to school dressed for an animal safari, as we will be having an animal scavenger hunt Friday August 4th.
