Welcome to the month of July!

 

We hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday. Also welcome to summer! Please remember that open toed shoes are not allowed and your child needs to be sun screened before they come to school in the morning and we re-apply it in the afternoon.

We would like to welcome to our Stork’s Nest Family Miss Madisyn and Miss Alexia.

 

Infant Room A:

 

Children will use objects as tools to make sounds banging blocks together with adult help. Children will also demonstrate a recognition of the difference between their primary caregiver and a stranger.

 

Family Engagement: Decorating a star (red, white and blue)

Infant Room B:

 

Children will learn a sense of self, family and community. Children will also engage in positive relationships and interactions with other children.

 

Family Engagement: Send home a star on red, white and blue paper to make a patriotic star.

 

Classroom Special Events: We are closed on July 3rd and 4th.

Infant Room C and D:

 

Children will be re-exploring objects in their hands and trying to bring objects to their mouth. Children will also gain an appreciation in the creative arts.

Crawler Room A and B:

 

Children will engage in positive relationships with other children by playing together and learning gentle touch. Children will also increase their skill in filtering impulses and sustaining attention on a task by completing activities that they are interested in.

 

Family Engagement: Please make a flag as a family and bring it in to be displayed in the classroom.

Younger Toddlers A Room:

 

Children will investigate and collect information during our melon tasting. Children will also increase their skills in filtering impulses and sustaining attention on task though encouraging hang holding and using walking feet.

 

Family Engagement: Melon tasting.

Younger Toddler B Room:

 

Children will recognize some body parts when we sing “head, shoulders, knees and toes” during music time. Children will also follow one-step directions with few adult gestures when asked to “please open your hand” during out handprint art project.

 

Family Engagement: We will trace hands and feet at school and send home to have parents color hand and footprints while counting 10 fingers and 10 toes. Bring the prints back to school to display in the classroom.

 

Classroom Special Events: Wednesday July 5th– Red, white and blue day. Dress in red, white or blue!

 

 

Older Toddlers Room:

 

Children will be learning about our amazing bodies and how they move. Children will also be learning about family and community and how we work together to help each other.

 

Family Engagement: Red, white and blue day July 5th. Please bring in a red, white or blue snack and wear patriotic colors.

Three’s Room:

 

Children will explore musical instruments to produce rhythms and tones. Children will also identify familiar words in a book and the environment through various summer books being read.

 

Family Engagement: Parents will make and design flags with their child and send them in by July 6th for show and tell.

 

Classroom Special Events: Ice Cream Party!

 

 

Pre-K Classroom:

 

Children will hold information in their mind and manipulate it to perform tasks. Children will also recognize and identify letters and make letter-sound connections.
