Welcome to the Month of August!

 

 

We are closed August 13th in the observation of VJ day. We would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.

 

We would like to welcome to our Stork’s Nest Family Ms. Laura and Ms. Julia.

 

 

We would like to wish these staff members a very Happy Birthday: 8/11 Ms. Cara (floater), 8/27 Ms. Trisha (infants), and 8/14 Ms. Tania (infants).

 

 

Infant A and B Room:

Children will develop self help skills. Children will also develop the ability to express and regulate their own emotions.

 

Family Engagement: What did you do in the summer. Please bring in a picture!

 

Classroom Special Events: We will be closed VJ day Aug 13th.

 

 

Infant Room C:

Children will develop trust in and engage positively with adults who are familiar and consistently present in children’s lives. Children will also develop large muscle control, strength and coordination.

 

Family Engagement: What does your family like to do this summer.

 

Classroom Special Events: Under the sea art.

Crawler Room A and B:

Children engage in positive relationships and interactions with other children by learning to play together during group activities. Children will gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts by working with a variety of art materials.

 

Family Engagement: Please bring in a photo of our family doing a fun summer activity.

 

Classroom Special Events: August 3rd – Watermelon Day, August 8th – Waterplay, August 22nd – Waterplay, August 29th – End of summer Ice Cream Party

 

 

Younger Toddlers A and B Room:

Children will imitate simple songs and fingerplay movements. Children will also explore cause-and-effect relationships through bubble play exploration.

 

Family Engagement: Parents will get a petal of a flower to decorate with their child to send back into school to be hung on the class flower.

 

Classroom Special Events: August 3rd– Watermelon day,

 

Student/Staff Birthdays: 8/2 Morgan, 8/21 Ryan, 8/24 Aubrie

 

 

Older Toddlers Room:

Children will observe and react to living things. (when outside, chasing or follow a small creature such as a butterfly, bird or lizard) Children will also identify known people in pictures.

 

Family Engagement: Enjoy blowing bubbles at home with your family. If possible bring in a picture to hang up for science.

 

Classroom Special Events: Bounce house, animal adventure and fiddle and fun!

Three’s Room:

Children will strengthen their memory and working memory through a review of what they learned. Children will also learn about shapes and their attributes by recognizing how many sides the shape has and counting the sides and corners.

 

Family Engagement: Book bags

 

Classroom Special Events: Bjorn, Animal adventures, fiddle and fun, bounce house and mad scientist.

 

 

Four’s Room:

Children learn to measure objects by their various attributions and use differences in attributes to make comparisons. Children will also explore the characteristics of objects and materials that are living, non-living, man-made or naturally occurring.

 

Family Engagement: Favorite Sea animal

 

Classroom Special Events: August 3rd– Watermelon day and August 9th– Bring your favorite book to school.

 

Student/Staff Birthdays: 8/26 Max

 

 

Pre-K Classroom:

Children use complex vocabulary, grammar and syntax to express their thoughts and needs. Children will also with support develop the ability to express and regulate their own emotions as well as work on controlling impulses.

 

Family Engagement: Please bring in a photo of your favorite family summer activity. August 9th– Parents can come read to the class.

 

Classroom Special Events: Watermelon day 8/3, Book lover’s day 8/9, Crazy sock day 8/17.
