Welcome to the month of March!

 

Welcome to the month of March! We would like to wish everyone a happy St. Patrick’s Day. Make sure you are wearing green!! Also make sure you are reading tons of books in celebration of read across America day and Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

We would like to wish these staff members a very Happy Birthday: 3/4 Miss Chelsea (Kprep), 3/12 Miss Jessica (Young Toddlers B).

 

 

 

Infant Room A and B:

 

Children will develop an awareness of themselves as an individual with unique thoughts, feelings and perspectives. Children will also develop self-help skills.

 

 

Family Engagement: Make a kite. We will have families decorate a kite.

 

 

Classroom Special Events: Wear green for St. Patrick’s Day and red for St. Josephs day.

Infant Room C:

 

Children will learn to plan for and carry out investigations and collect, evaluate and communicate information. Children will also gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts.

 

 

Family Engagement: Make a kite!

 

 

Classroom Special Events: Puppet Play

Crawler Room A and B:

 

Children learn to identify shapes and their attributes, solve problems using shapes and explore the positions of objects in space by using shape sorters. Children will also develop self-help skills by practicing using child safe utensils and learning proper handwashing techniques.

 

 

Classroom Special Events: Friday March 16th wear green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!!

 

 

Family Engagement: Please bring in any extra winter gear that your child no longer uses so that we have extras.

 

 

 

 

Young Toddlers A Room:

 

 

Children will help with simple tasks. Children will also sing simple songs like the wheels on the bus.

 

 

Classroom Special Events: St. Patrick’s Day party 3/16

 

 

Family Engagement: We are asking families to come up with a green collage on a 8×10 piece of paper to decorate our classroom.

 

 

 

Young Toddlers B Room:

 

 

Demonstrate an understanding that tools can be used to gather information and investigate materials. Children will also provide their first and last names when asked.

 

Classroom Special Events: St. Patricks Day- Wear Green (Party tbd)

 

 

Family Engagement: Create a fun shamrock

Older Toddlers Room:

 

Children will move their bodies with increasing skill to express emotions and rhythms. Children will also hold one-sided conversations with stuffed animals and dolls.

 

 

Classroom Special Events: St. Patrick’s Day party

 

 

Family Engagement: Fill water bottle with green and blue (either sand, beads, glitter etc.)

 

 

 

 

Three’s Room:

 

Children will hold information in their mind and manipulate it to perform tasks through working on a memory match game. Children will also develop self-help skills though working on putting on their own jackets.

 

 

Family Engagement: Dr. Seuss take home bag.

 

 

Classroom Special Events: Celebrating Dr. Seuss Birthday. March 2nd

 

 

 

Pre-K Classroom:

 

Children will notice and discriminate the sound of spoken language and produce words (real or nonsense) that rhyme with other common words. The children will be introduced to real or nonsense words through the many Dr. Seuss books read to them. Children will also gain awareness of how they relate to their family and community, understand social roles and responsibilities and recognize and respect similarities and differences in people.

 

 

Family Engagement: Dr. Seuss song: There’s a Rocket in my pocket. What’s your favorite color of the rainbow.

 

 

Classroom Special Events 3/5-3/9 Parents are welcome to come in and read their favorite Dr. Seuss book. 3/16 Wear your green!

 

 

 

 

K-Prep Classroom:

 

 

Children will use writing skills and show a knowledge of writing conventions, they demonstrate an understanding of writing as a means of communications. Children will also understand the concepts of time (past, present and future) and place.

 

 

Family Engagement: Dr. Seuss week and art night rescheduled March 7th!
