Welcome to the month of September!

The center will be closed on Monday September 3rd in the observance of Labor Day. On behalf of the staff here, we would like to wish everyone a happy holiday.

 

Welcome to our Stork’s Nest Family, Miss Samantha.

 

We would like to wish these staff members a very Happy Birthday: 9/5 Ms. Zenaida (young toddlers), 9/5 Ms. Alicia (young toddlers), 9/8 Ms. Cheryl (corporate) and 9/26 Ms. Ronnie (nurse)

 

Infant Room A and B:

Children will develop trust in and engage positively with adults who are familiar and consistently present in children’s lives. Children will also explore the characteristics of objects that are living, non-living, man-made or naturally occurring.

 

Family Engagement: Ask parents to decorate an apple for our board.

 

Classroom Special Events: Closed Labor Day Sept 3rd.

 

Student/Staff Birthdays: 9/6- Juliette and 9/22- Jacob

 

 

Infant Room C:

Children will learn to order and sort objects by common attributes to identify patterns and predict the next sequence of a pattern. Children will gain an appreciation for and participate in the creative arts.

Classroom Special Events: Welcome to our new school year!

 

 

Crawler Room A and B:

Children will use increasingly complex vocabulary, grammar, and syntax to express thoughts and needs by learning to use simple sign language. Children will also explore the characteristics of objects and materials that are living, non-living, man-made or naturally occurring by interactions with their environment both indoors and outdoors.

 

Family Engagement: Please bring in a family photo.

 

 

Younger Toddlers A and B Room:

Children will sit on and move small wheeled riding toys. Children will also respond to others’ statements, prompts and questions.

 

Family Engagement: All about me. Please send in a picture of your child that you don’t mind getting cut.

 

Classroom Special Events: Labor Day 9/4

 

Student/Staff Birthdays: 9/5 Miss Zenaida, 9/5 Miss Alicia, 9/26 Liam, 9/28 Scarlett

 

 

Older Toddlers Room:

Children will bend or stoop over to pick up a toy or other object.  In addition, children will also wield larger toys with some accuracy (e.g pounding on a peg board and pegs or on a pounding board).

 

Family Engagement: Send out wooden ears for parents to paint with child and bring it in.

 

Classroom Special Events: Pizza Party towards the end of the month.

 

 

Three’s Room:

Children will learn to engage in structured and unstructured physical activity. The children will participate with classmates doing yoga. Children will gain an appreciation for and participate in creative arts. The children will be encouraged to use the art center to create a family picture.

Classroom Special Events: Back to school project

 

 

Fours Room:

Children will develop an awareness of themselves as an individual with unique thoughts, feelings and perspectives.  Children will gain an awareness of how they relate to their family and community, understand social roles, responsibilities and recognize and respect similarities and differences in people.

 

Family Engagement: All about me book bag

 

Classroom Special Events: 9/3/18 Labor Day

 

 

Pre-K Classroom:

Children will begin to develop small muscle control, strength and coordination. Children will begin to understand, follow and use appropriate social conversational rules.
