SPECIAL EVENTS

*4/8-4/12 IS WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD. THE CHILDREN WILL PARTICIPATE IN SOME FUN THEMED
DAYS THIS WEEK!

*4/21- HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF OUR FAMILIES!

Infants-

 

This month we will focus on language development. The development of children’s early
language skills is critically important for their future academic success. This month we will look for
younger infants to recognize names of familiar people and favorite objects. With the older infants, we
will encourage vocalizations, gestures, and facial expressions to communicate needs and wants and to
express interest or dislike.

 

April 8th-12 is WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD! Special themed days will be posted in our foyer.

 

Family Engagement- This month we will be sending home an egg for families to decorate together. They
will be displayed in the classroom for all friends to see!

 

Crawlers-

 

This month we will focus on cognitive development and simple problem solving. The children
will apply strategies and draw upon past knowledge and experiences to meet goals and solve problems.
We will also be focusing on the creative arts and experimenting with various textures and materials.
Family Engagement- This month we will be making a classroom healthy snack. Please look for a sign-up
sheet posted on the refrigerator.

 

Happy Birthday to Evelyn 4/4 and Oliver 4/7!

 

Young Toddlers-

 

This month we will focus on social and emotional development. We will work on self
regulation as we use positive tone and wording to redirect the children. We will also focus on physical
health as the children work on self help skills and hand washing.

 

Family Engagement- This month we will be coloring Easter Eggs together! We are asking that each of
our families bring in two white hard boiled eggs for their child to decorate! Please bring them in by
4/18!

 

Older Toddlers-

 

This month we will be spending a lot of time outside observing our environment and
what happens to it in the spring. We will be getting very dirty! We will also be finding out and
practicing different ways to help our environment for Earth Day! We will be making some recycled art!
Family Engagement- This month we will be sending home a list of recycled materials that we would like
our families to bring in so we can use them to make bird feeders.

3’s Preschool-

 

This month our focus will be on science as the weather changes and we are able to
explore our outside environment. The children will explore the characteristics of objects and materials
that are living, non-living, man-made, or naturally occurring.

 

Family Engagement- This month we are asking our families to create their own Easter Eggs at home for
us to display in our classroom!

4’s Pre-K-

 

This month we will be working on a unit about dinosaurs. We will be exploring the
characteristics of dinosaurs and discussing the similarities and differences between different types of
dinosaurs. We will also be learning about the Earth and recycling. We will be collecting recycled
materials and using them to create a variety of art projects. We will also be conducting a few
experiments to learn how pollution affects our Earth today.

4/15-4/26- Recycling Drive
4/25- RIRRC Field Trip

 

Family Engagement- This month we are inviting families to join us for “Taco Tuesday” on Tuesday 4/9. If
you would like to join us, please fill out the form and return it along with your payment to the office. In
honor of Earth Day and recycling unit, we will be having a school wide recycling drive. Please see the
additional flyer for more information on the items we will be collecting.

 

Happy Birthday to… Asher 4/16 and Aubrey 4/26!

 

K-Prep-

 

This month we will focus on Science. The children will learn to plan for and carry out
investigations and collect, evaluate, and communicate information. We will also focus on mathematics.
The children will learn to use numbers to compare quantities and solve problems.

Family Engagement- Family Fiesta Lunch! Please consider attending our family activity on April 9th from
