The healthy development of young children is directly related to practicing healthy behaviors, strengthening large and small muscles, and developing strength and coordination. With older infants, we are self feeding to practice small muscle control and coordination.  Younger infants are developing core strength by practicing sitting with and without assistance and rolling over.

K-Prep

This month we will focus on health and safety practices. The children will become increasingly able to identify unsafe situations and gradually learn strategies for responding to them.  We do this when we study fire safety.  Children need to understand what to do in case of a fire.  They also need to identify when a situation is not safe.  We will also work on self regulation. The children will develop the ability to control impulses.  We do this to help children learn to wait their turn and to learn how to stay in tune to various types of activities for longer periods of time.

Family Engagement– This month we will be learning about fire safety.  Make a fire escape plan with your family at home.  Talk about it together and practice your plan.

Special Events– Pezza Farm Field Trip 10/23.  Please make sure to return slip along with payment to Ms. Kelly!
